Last week the Massachusetts State Lottery and the New England Patriots announced a deal to develop the first licensed National Football League, or NFL, instant ticket.
The agreement followed a vote from National Football League owners to allow teams and lottery groups to partner.
"This is an excellent opportunity for two successful brands to work together on behalf of the communities of Massachusetts," said Tim Cahill, Massachusetts' state treasurer and state lottery commission chair, in a prepared statement.
"During this economic downturn, cities and towns will benefit from this partnership.”
According to the state lottery, the Patriots ticket will be released before the 2009 NFL season.
