The Arkansas House of Representatives has approved a 70 percent tax reduction on charitable bingo cards, reports the Associated Press.
Initially the House voted to cut the 1-cent tax on bingo cards, however a Senate amendment left three-tenths of a penny in place, the news service said.
Even though various charities support the bill, which is sponsored by Arkansas democratic Tracy Pennartz, it could subtract $1.1 million from state revenue, according to the Arkansas News Bureau.
